Office Hours & Appointments

action-reception areaWe provide services at locations in Topeka and throughout the region. Our main office location at 6th & Wanamaker is open 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. You may call to request an appointment or to obtain information during these hours.

Office visits are by appointment only. If an appointment cannot be kept, please notify us as soon as possible so that your appointment time can be offered to another patient. We make every effort to see you at your appointed time, but due to the complexities of a medical practice it is not always possible to see you at the exact time. Please be assured that we will do everything possible to keep your wait time as comfortable as possible.

Telephone Calls

Many phone calls are handled by our office each day. We answer as many calls as we can as they come in, and utilize a voice messaging system for those that we are unable to attend to at the moment the call is received. When you call, we ask that you provide complete information concerning your problem so that we can respond as soon as possible. We return calls in the order that they are received and will attempt to return your call the same day that it is received with most calls returned within an hour of your call. It is our policy to not treat illnesses or injuries over the phone, so please be prepared to make an appointment at the time of your call.

Reaching the “On Call” Physician

One of our physicians are always “on call” for the practice. If you need to contact our “on call” physicians after office hours, call (785) 233-7491 and our answering service will direct your call accordingly.


If you experience an emergency, call 911 or your local hospital emergency department immediately. They may dispatch emergency transportation for you to the hospital. If the emergency department personnel determine that you need to be evaluated by one of our physicians, they will contact us directly and arrangements will be made to see you.


If your physician determines that you are in need of hospital care, you will be referred to the most appropriate facility to treat your condition. In Topeka, our physicians admit to University of Kansas Health System – St Francis. Our staff rotates after office hours call duty every day. If your physician is not available after office hours, one of our other providers will attend to your needs through our answering service or at St. Francis Health Center.


We do not consider it good medical practice to prescribe medications over the phone without examining the patient. However, please call if you have any questions or concerns regarding a prescription given to you by our practice. If you need a refill of your medication, you can either request this at your next appointment or contact your pharmacy directly. They will then contact us regarding your request and if appropriate, we will authorize the refill to your pharmacy. Prescription refill requests will be processed between office hours of 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Requests received after 4:00pm will be processed the following business day. Please note, refill requests will not be processed after office hours or on weekends.

Commonly Asked Billing Questions

We recognize the need for definite understanding between the patient and the physician regarding the financial arrangements for medical care. You will receive a copy of our Financial Policy at your first visit. The responsibility for payment of fees is the direct obligation of the patient or their legal representative. Any financial benefits that the patient may receive from insurance or governmental agencies are a matter of settlement solely between the patient and the insurance carrier or the governmental agency involved.

The billing process is an expensive one and that is why we ask our patients to pay insurance co-pays at the time of service when there is an insurance claim to be filed. If you would like us to process your insurance claim for you, you will be asked to complete a Registration Form at your first visit. We feel that it is a very valuable service to our patients due to the increasing complexities of this process and the increasing difficulty for patients to receive all of the benefits for which they are eligible. We request that you keep the Patient Accounts department informed of any changes in your insurance status. We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Additionally, you may make online payments through our Patient Portal on this website.


Our Patient Services Representatives will assist in any pre-certification or prior authorization process which may be required by your insurance carrier. This includes health insurance, workmans’ compensation programs or liability insurance claims. However, it is ultimately the patient's responsibility to see that this process has been completed.
